Heralding new beginnings, DEMOLISH is a large scale, outdoor, theatrical and nocturnal spectacle created by Clunes-based artists: Rebecca Russell and Ken Evans (RUSSELL:EVANS). This new Australian work highlights the history, evolution and gentrification of Australia's ancestral lands which have been turned upside down from goldfields to farmlands and from roads to houses. Juxtaposing memories and artefacts from the past with the brutality of destruction, DEMOLISHquestions what we are losing and what future we are building – is it development or demolition? Featuring live demolition!
DEMOLISH is a new Australian work by regional artists, commissioned by Creative Victoria for the Regional Centre for Culture 2018 in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo, supported by La Trobe University and produced by Andrew Bleby & Associates with RUSSELL:EVANS.
